Well, about the fast approaching general elections in Delta state.  A lot of concern has been raised in time past about the need to focus less on oil and more on other sectors of the economy. Although, a lot has been done about that to ensure that the state doesn’t focus much attention on Oil. The Agricultural sector has been improved greatly with government involvement through reforms and accelerated industrialization, Relevant health, and education policies.

For a state as vast in both Human and Natural Resources, indicating a great potential in the Tourism industry, concern has been raised as to what and whose Policy will impact the development of Delta state to Forster Tourism. In line with the Smart Agenda of the incumbent Government in the state championed by the Executive Governor Dr. Ifeanyi  Okowa (Transforming the state through Urban Renewal), the face of Delta has indeed taken a new form and shape ( well you can’t notice this if you’ve not been to Delta State lately).

The state is witnessing an uncommon transformation of roads linking hamlets to villages, villages to towns and towns to cities, increasing the transportation of goods and services, promoting economic activities.

Well just in case you’ve been asking this question “ what’s the essence of Tourism Development” The answer is that Tourism Influences Socio-Economic activities of any Destination.

Still, in line with The SMART agenda of The Executive Governor, a Governorship aspirant from the major Opposition Party in the state, with his FIX-DELTA Policy Presents similar Policy.

The Netherlands-based activist-turned politician ( Comrade Sunny Ofefe  “ Of the All Progressive Congress”) noted that the indigenes of the state have no business being poor considering the vast human and natural resources that are bound.

According to the activist, Delta State would experience a massive turn around because his ‘Fix Delta’ policies will be well-tailored to reflect the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

His words, “Our policies have been carefully designed in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to combat and improve the living standard of our people”.

He said he would ensure a policy that would compel multinationals companies and private investors wanting to do business in the state to beautify strategic locations in the state as part of their corporate social responsibility to the state without the state spending a kobo for such projects.

However, the Executive Governor is still In the business of developing the State as he has re-assured Deltans of his commitment come 2019.
